Building Kavnika's ethnic wear store, from logo to launch

TheChallenge

Kavnika is a new women's ethnic wear label, named after a mother and daughter, Kunika and Kavya. The range covered daily wear and heavy kurtis, co-ord sets and indo-western pieces at the semi-premium end of the market, but the brand had no logo, no website and no way to take an order.

The founders wanted their own store to come first, ahead of Myntra and Ajio, and they needed payments and shipping working by mid-September so they could start selling while the rest of the site was finished.

TheResult

We designed the Kavnika logo over three rounds of iterations, then built the Shopify store around the way she shops: by category (long kurti, short kurti, 3 piece suit, co-ord set, one piece) and by collection (new arrivals, festive, ethnic wear, indo-western). Payment and shipping integrations were set up first to meet the client's mid-September deadline, on a plan that ran 25 days from kick-off to full launch.

The store now carries free shipping above Rs 2,499, 15-day returns, cash on delivery, a size guide, order tracking and WhatsApp chat, so Kavnika is set up to add marketplaces next without rebuilding anything.
